About Me

fromsilkroad: Dominique and I became involved with natural fibers about 5 years ago during one of our stays in India. At first disappointed with the quality of products we found in the markets we decided to track them back to their sources and it is there in the remote villages and valleys of the subcontinent, and the back alleys of its towns that we discovered the beauty of natural materials and the wealth of traditional techniques. Today we spend our time between our spinning and weaving studio in Himachal Pradesh and our home in Arizona, where our son Alex handles customer relations and shipping. Presently most of our energy is focused on hand-spinning, yarn design, exploration and experimentation with natural dyes, study, incorporation and transformation of tribal and traditional styles, techniques and patterns with the intention of their graceful continuation and transformation into a vibrant future, with the further and final hope of bringing them into the hands of lovers of beauty, quality and purity worldwide.
